Bimblebox: art – science – nature opened at Redland Art Gallery, Cleveland on 16 May, 2014.
Exhibition continues until Sunday 29th June.
It was a fabulous opening, which began with a performance of Coalface by Alison Clouston and Boyd.
Quandamooka elder Aunty Joan Hendriks welcomed us to country. And indeed it is very special to launch Bimblebox: art – science – nature in this beautiful and very precious part of Queensland. Thank you Aunty Joan Hendriks. The exhibition Quandamooka Dreaming is also currently on display at the Redland Art Gallery.
Ecologist Rod Fensham officially opened the exhibition. Rod has had a long relationship with the Bimblebox Nature Refuge through his field study work on fire management and sustainable grazing.
Bimblebox Art Project founder and coordinator Jill Sampson also spoke about the Bimblebox Nature Refuge, artist camps and the development of this exhibition.
Thank you to Redland Art Gallery for a fantastic opening event and for your integral involvement in the development and exhibiting of this exhibition.

Wow! Excellant work & show! Hope they keep up the standard of effort & craftmanship. If all goes well ‘Bimblebox’ will survive this intrusion. Nature will intervene with a bit of help from her friends.
