The Bimblebox Nature Refuge is supposed to be protected for perpetuity, but instead it has been fighting against big coal for more than 15 years. During 2022 the Bimblebox Alliance went to the Land Court of Qld to object to the Galilee Coal Project. On 3 April 2023 the Qld Environment Minister refused Waratah Coal’s Environmental Authority.
