Bimblebox: art – science – nature
is the touring exhibition currently under development. Bimblebox: art – science – nature will be launched at Redland Art Gallery in May 2014.
As part of the process of curating this exhibition curator Beth Jackson and I visited most of the artists creating work for this exhibition. It was a joy to visit each of the artists to view and talk about their artwork and their approach to documenting the Bimblebox Nature Refuge.
I received an RADF grant from the South Burnett Regional Council and Arts Queensland to be mentored through the curatorial process by Beth. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn about curating a national touring art exhibition from this professional, experienced and skilled curator. Travelling with Beth, learning through participating, being able to thoroughly discuss the artists process and artwork with the artists as well as with Beth was a great gift. A wonderful learning opportunity which I will take into the future and continue to build upon – Jill Sampson
Below are some of the photos from the studio visits.
